The chemical shift effects on image, which is becoming problematic in the NMR imaging in high magnetic field with superconducting magnets, are studied and a correction scheme is proposed together with the sequence and corresponding data processing algorithm. Also discussed is the possible application of this new scheme to obtain spatially resolved chemical shift spectroscopy (or sometimes called with 4-D spectroscopy), although the latter is not expected to have such high spectral resolution as $^1$H chemical shift spectral data. To demonstrate the chemical shift effects on image and to prove the validity of both the new proposed correction scheme and its application to spatially resolved chemical shift spectroscopy, computer simulations are performed and the results are presented.
