Based on the black-box approach for modeling an SCR, a computer simulation using SPICE for analysis and design of power electronic circuits containing SCR``s is proposed.
SCR terminal characteristics such as break-over voltage, holding current, gate current and voltage, on-state SCR voltage, turn-on time, turn-off time, and dv/dt effect are simulated appropriately. The values of SCR model parameters are easily determined based on the informations usually given in the manufactuer``s data sheet and the algorithm in this thesis.
To show the performance of the model, a 100Hz SCR Flip-Flop and a 10KHz type-A inverter are simulated and the results are compared with the experimental ones.
