A programmable Finite Impulse Response digital filter bank is hardware-implemented and the Fast Fourier Transformation software is developed in assembly language by using Nova 830 minicomputer. These are used for the MTI radar filter system. The digital filter bank hardware offers the capability of clutter rejection and has the characteristic feature that can completely eliminate the overflow problem in two``s complement number system by employing bit extension logic. Fast Fourier Transformation software has the flexibility to calculate any $2^n$-point FFT and uses adaptive scaling algorithm to circumvent the overflow problem in the fixed point arithematic logic. The result can be displayed on the graphic terminal. This software functions as a digital matched filter in the MTI radar filter system.eng
