dc.description.abstractA new method for a TV remote control system using the amplitude modulation of an ultrasonic wave is introduced in this paper. The amplitude modulation is a new phenomenon arised by the special characteristics of a piezo-electric ceramic transducer. A prototype has been assembled and tested. The prototype has many advantages including among others; excellent noise immunity, no reflection problem, variety in controllable functions and low cost. The controllable functions are CHANNEL UP/DN, VOLUME UP/DN, MUTE ON/OFF and extra two additional functions which can be assigned to COLOR UP/DN, TINT UP/DN. They are all controlled using four switches only.eng
