dc.description.abstractThe IEEE 802.16 WirelessMAN Standard for Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks became IMT-2000 Family by final approval of International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s Radiocommunication Assembly (RA), known as IMT-2000 OFDMA TDD WMAN in October 2007. In this thesis, network entry and ranging of the Mobile WiMAX MAC protocol is implemented by using Unified Modeling Language (UML)-based model-driven development (MDD) that visualizes the complicated system and increases reusability. We present our detailed design and implementation of network entry and ranging, and the test result of the designed model based on the WiMAX Forum Mobile Test Suite Structure and Test Purposes (TSS&TP) Specification. We also implement the testbed for testing the function of the Mobile WiMAX MAC protocol, and present the test result based on the WiMAX Forum Mobile TSS&TP Specification.eng
