dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, we propose a new phase-shifted pilot (PSP) channel estimator which performs better any conventional schemes. The PSP channel estimator has an advantage that the pilots of all transmit antenna can be allocated on the same position. Through the proposed PSP sequence, the received pilot can be represented as a linear model, which makes it possible that estimation criterion can be applied to the received pilot. Furthermore, the optimal shifted-phase which minimizes the interference can be obtained from the solution of the optimization problem. Thus, the proposed channel estimator performs the best among the PSP channel estimators and this performance is close to mean square error (MSE) lower bound because the interference is almost eliminated by the optimal shifted-phase.eng
