dc.description.abstractMulti-hop relaying is a promising technology to improve the performance of cellular system. In multi-hop system, the functionality of relay station is focused on maximizing the system efficiency with minimum cost. Throughput enhancement and coverage extension are possible through multi-hop relaying technology. However, delay increase and bandwidth waste are the defects of multi-hop relay, which have to be overcome. In this paper, we propose a traffic adaptive uplink scheduling algorithm for relay station to provide QoS and optimize bandwidth efficiency. The proposed uplink scheduling for relay station could be applied to the centralized multi-hop system such as the IEEE 802.16 MMR efficiently.eng
