Analysis of rectangular waveguide with cylindrical posts

Abstract

Electromagnetic wave propagation in a rectangular waveguide having cylindrical posts with a gap is investigated by an analytic method for rigorous results instead of numerical methods that were used for approximate results at other previous papers. The structure is used at various microwave devices. The boundary-value problems of the posts in a rect-angular waveguide is solved using mode matching, image method, and superposition. Our numerical results agree favorably with the other existing experimental data.
