dc.description.abstractBased on local optimality, a novel sequential detection scheme is proposed and applied to discrete-time signal detection in this thesis. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed detection scheme, the proposed detection scheme is compared with the sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) and the truncated SPRT (TSPRT). The proposed detection scheme has higher efficiency and smaller computational requirements than the SPRT at the cost of slightly more complexity and lower detectability. It is also observed that the proposed detection scheme has lower complexity, smaller computational requirements, and higher efficiency than the TSPRT at the same level of detectability.eng
