dc.description.abstractA modified-membrane finite-element formulation is derived to take the bending effect into account for sheet metal forming analysis. The plastic dissipation energy term in the formulation consists of the term due to the mean stretching and that due to the bending. The algorithm developed is applied to square cup drawing problems to investigate the thickness effect on drawing load and strain distribution and the size effect on an initial wrinkling phenomenon.-
