dc.description.abstractThe first preparation of tellurophosphonates has been studied and vinyl tellurides were synthesized by the Wittig-Horner reaction of tellurophosphonates with aldehydes. Reaction of the lithio anions derived from diethyl alkylphosphonates with phenyltellurenyl iodide gave the diethyl phenyltelluroalkylphosphonate. Tellurophosphonates were also prepared by the reaction of lithium tellurolates with iodomethylphosphonate. Vinyl tellurides can be synthesized by the treatment of a mixture of the tellurophosphonate and of the carbonyl compound with NaH in boiling THF.eng
