The ZnS:Cl, ZnS:Cu,Cl, and ZnS:Cu, Al phosphors were prepared and their photoluminescence were studied. Depending on the contents of doped activator(Cu) AND coactivators(Cl, Al) in the phosphor, different kind of luminescences were observed. By elemental analysis of activator and coactivator doped into the phosphor, criteria could be established for the different region of luminescence center. The growth of phosphor particles during firing was also observed with scanning electron microscope and found some promoting and inhibiting agents during the particle growth of phosphors.
