Since 2009, the power conversion efficiencies (PCE) of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have increased from 3.8% to 26.1% over the last decade. Now, stability is of particular importance, as it is known
that the devices' efficiency degrades over time when exposed to light, high temperatures, and humid environments. Therefore, the encapsulation techniques for the devices are necessary for preventing a failure or mitigating a decrease in testing efficiencies. Several encapsulation techniques, such as multi-layer films with alternating organic and inorganic layers, flexible thin films with metal foils, and lamination-based glass-to-glass encapsulation with polymers, have been developed and applied to PSCs. In this talk, I will discuss previous efforts to utilize the encapsulation layers for PSCs and our recent advances in enhancing the stability of perovskite solar cells under harsh testing condition.
