This paper presents a dynamic analysis of a floating bridge performed using both computer simulation and laboratory experiment. A mooring test setup comprising a water tank is developed to simulate the laboratory experiment. A rigid body motion is assumed for a unit length of the floating bridge. Instead of installing a fixed mooring cable, springs are used to conveniently control the pretension in a scaled down model. A response amplitude operator analysis is conducted, and the results confirm the suitability of the experimental setup in analyzing the dynamic behavior of floating bridges.
