dc.description.abstract | As one of the passive safety functions, the passive containment cooling system (PCCS) has gained substantial attention since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. The KAIST research team recently suggested a condenser using the phase-change material as a new PCCS concept to resolve the limitations of existing PCCS concepts. As the first step, a parametric study was performed to check the heat removal capability of PCM condenser dependence to the several design parameters. From the results, the finger number and finger length were the significant design parameters affecting the heat transfer to the PCM. | - |
