dc.description.abstractElectric vehicle (EV) market share is expected to grow rapidly, many researches on wireless charging system for EVs have been widely conducted, accordingly. Wireless charging system transmits power using transmitting and receiving coils, and coil misalignment occurs depending on the size of the vehicle and the parking state. Coil misalignment changes the degree of coupling between two coils and the change affects the overall system operation. Therefore, the design considering coil misalignment is required. In this paper, the optimal design of wireless charging system for EVs robust to coil misalignment is discussed. The coils are based on J2954 and the coupling coefficient variation depending on coil misalignment is measured by simulation. Besides, constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) are required for EV battery charging profile. Therefore, design method of wireless charging system implementing both charging profiles without changing the operation frequency and compensation network is provided.-
