Hybrid supercapacitor using metal oxide and graphene improves the specific capacitance, due to the synergistic effects between both materials. Herein, we demonstrate a facile approach for preparing the hybrid composite electrodes with outstanding areal capacitance and cyclic stability by decoration of SnO2 nanoparticles on vertically-aligned graphene (VAG). VAG electrodes are prepared by electrochemical anodization of graphite foil. SnO2 decorated VAG electrodes (SnO2@VAG) are fabricated by sonication-assisted sequential chemical bath deposition process. Hybrid supercapacitor using SnO2 decorated VAG electrodes shows an excellent areal capacitance (2.26 Fcm-2) and cyclic stability of 90 % after 2000 cycles. We believe that the fabrication of SnO2@VAG may be a significant contribution to the development of high-performance supercapacitors industry.
