Ceria has been extensively used as a catalyst support because it has excellent oxygen transfer and oxygen storage capacity due to high redox property. The properties significantly increase the reaction rate by providing active oxygen to the reaction including the redox step, such as CO oxidation reaction. However, there are few studies that clearly distinguish between oxygen transfer and oxygen storage capacity. In this study, platinum-ceria-alumina catalyst was synthesized by wet impregnation method that platinum and ceria were deposited on alumina simultaneously. The structure of platinum-ceria-alumina catalyst was confirmed via HAADF-STEM, XRD, and CO-DRIFTS, and the ceria domain size increased as the loading amount of ceria increased. We observed how the oxygen transfer and oxygen storage capacity changed as the ceria domain size was changed via H2-TPR and CO-O2 pulse. Finally, this was related to the CO oxidation reactivity, and they were distinguished.
