Proximity-field nanopatterning (PnP) is capable of simultaneously obtaining high spatial resolution and mass-producibility in synthesizing nanoarchitectures. Moreover, material conversion techniques to functional base materials expand the application of nanoarchitectures in various research fields. Herein, I focus on the feasibility of using PnP as a scalable fabrication technique for nanoarchitectures and their application for multifunctional polymer matrix nanocomposites, and mechanically robust metal matrix nanocomposites reinforced by nanoarchitecture. This paper discusses and summarizes the relevant results obtained for nanoarchitectures synthesized by PnP and provides suggestions for future research directions for next-generation nanocomposite system.
