dc.description.abstract | This dissertation demonstrates that there is an uncovered universality in underlying market fundamentals in the divergent blockchain markets and a missing link between heterogeneity in individuals’ choice and the principal orientation of cryptocurrency market networks. The persistently generated motifs for emergence and survival of novelty, i.e., transformative newness in blockchain technologies lead to innovation in the financial market referred to as a complex system. The first study demonstrates that technological divergence in blockchain does not impede the market fundamentals. As a rationale for these findings, I hypothesize for the dynamics between information interactions associated with liquidity and market conditions and verify it empirically. The second study proposes that information circulation around the long-term equilibrium accelerates the convergence to price fair value in the market. This study suggests that the potential for regime shifts in market uncertainty through a quantum harmonic oscillator model. The third study presents the empirical findings that the evolution of network structure is consistent with heterogeneity enhancement in the forks’ market. Externality generated from divergent blockchains bring about global information-carrying within the network. In conclusion, through verifying signals for the hidden structure of the market, i.e., price fairness, resilience, risk metric, and information transmission channels, this dissertation contributes to providing criteria for market participants’ decision-making and policy design. | - |
