In this paper, we propose a new Pogo pin connector with a novel structure that replaces the role of spring of conventional Pogo pin connector with a spire clip type terminal. In the spring-loaded Pogo pin connector, amount of electrical contacts between the plunger and the barrel were increased to solve the burning issue caused by excessive current flowing to the spring. We have completely solved the burning issue by replacing the spring, which is the root of the problem, with a spire clip type. Moreover, the electrical and thermal reliability of the proposed Pogo pin connector is verified through the EM simulation and thermal simulation.-
