This paper proposes a dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter-based bidirectional DC/DC converter with reduced link capacitance. The structure of the proposed converter is based on the DAB converter, and two half-bridge converter-based active filters are fully integrated into the primary side. As the DAB converter has multi-degree-of-freedom, active filtering operation and DC/DC converter operation can be simultaneously achieved. As a result, the volume of the link capacitor and the number of switches can be reduced.
