Multimodel-based algorithms, such as the interacting multiple model, have been used in target estimation problems with different dynamics models. The combination of a constant velocity (CV) model and a coordinated turn (CT) model is widely used to track a maneuvering target. However, the distinction between the two models may not be distinct when the target is weakly maneuvering. In this letter, we propose a new method to resolve the ambiguity between CV and CT models that can provide a faster maneuver response and a higher estimation accuracy than traditional methods.-
