dc.description.abstractWith extreme climate change and fossil fuel depletion becoming an issue, it is essential to find sustainable alternative material as a means of replacing conventional petrochemical-based plastics. Polyhydroxyalkanoate is promising substitute material with the advantages of biodegradability. Copolymers of short-chain-length and medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkane are promising for various applications, due to the combination of the strength of Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) and the flexibility of medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanate. In this study, 14.1 g/L of poly (19mol% 3HB-co-3HA) with content of 34.3wt% was produced using glucose as a sole carbon source. This study present an efficient method for the production of short chain-length and medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanate copolymer by applying metabolic engineering of Pseudomonas putida.-
