A low latency measurement of the forces exerted by human is essential for wearable devices in order for them to interact with the human body in real-time. The pneumatic pressure sensors are fit for this purpose in that due to the mechanical principle of the sensors, they do not require sophisticated signal processing which leads to an advantage in attaining a low latency measurement. However, commercially available pneumatic pressure sensors have limits due to their physical fragility. The air leakage from its air bladder while undergoing the human force interaction causes an unexpected variati on of the calibration model between the external force and the sensor output for each experiment, which undermines the repeatability and requires adjustment of the parameters for different trials. In this paper, we propose a new wireless pneumatic sensor module made of polyurethane coated fabric. It achieved a robustness of the hardware and a low latency in wireless communication. A 24-hour internal pressure test was conducted to prove the prevention of air leakage. The latency of the wireless measurement is under 2 ms on average.
