본 발명은 히알루론산(Hyaluronic acid)의 생성능이 향상된 재조합 미생물 및 이를 이용한 히알루론산의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 갈락토오스 오페론 리프레서(galactose operon repressor)를 코딩하는 유전자가 결실되거나 상기 유전자의 발현이 억제 또는 감소되어 있는 재조합 미생물을 이용하는 경우, 히알루론산을 높은 수율로 생산할 수 있으므로 화장품 또는 의약품의 원료, 식품업, 의료업 등의 다양한 분야에서 유용하게 활용될 것이다.
