Artificial cationic $\alpha$-helical polypeptides have been researched due to potent cell-penetrating capability. Mitochondria play an important role in regulating apoptosis, and intracellular calcium concentration is key factor in inducing apoptosis. Herein, we developed a novel polypeptide that destabilizes mitochondrial membranes and transfers calcium ions to the cytoplasm. Destabilized mitochondria and increased intracellular calcium stress oxidize cellular environment and initiate apoptosis signaling cascade in cancer cells. This potent cancer therapeutic polypeptide suggests the availability of polypeptides as an anti-cancer agent.-
