dc.description.abstractGastrin cDNA that had been made from mRNA of bovine abomasum antral mucosa was cloned into pUC19. The gastrin insert is 467 nucleotides containing 312 nucleotides coding region (104 amino acids preprogastrin) as those of many mammalians. Bovine gastrin has homology with canine (81%), porcine (80%), human (71%), and rat (68%) in amino acid sequence and with canine (87%), porcine (82%), human (81%), and rat (73%) in nucletide sequence. So bovine gastrin is more homologous with canine gastrin than other species. In 5``-untranslational region all nucleotides are identical with canine gastrin except only one nucleotide. The consensus sequences of gastrin detected in all species, are also identified in bovine gastrin.eng
