The present invention relates to an electrolyte containing polydopamine and a lithium sulfur battery containing the same, and more particularly to a technique in which polydopamine contained in the electrolyte adsorbs lithium polysulfide eluted from a positive electrode of the lithium sulfur battery. When the electrolyte solution of the present invention, to which the polydopamine particles are added, is used, the polydopamine particles dispersed in the electrolyte solution function to adsorb lithium polysulfide dissolved out from the positive electrode during charge and discharge, thereby enabling to suppress diffusion thereof, i.e., to suppress a shuttle reaction, thereby improving the capacity and life characteristics of the lithium-sulfur battery.
