Prediction of the temperature history of a mass concrete allows us to respond possible risks of cracking at early age and resultant serviceability. The adiabatic temperature rise of a given concrete mix is the input heat source for the prediction of the temperature history. However, its measurement requires a high volume of a sample and thus a practical test is limited with a few mixtures of candidates. This paper presented the model to compute the adiabatic temperature rise in concrete based on isothermal calorimetry of its paste binder, which is much simpler and practical. The model is verified by comparing its prediction results with the measurement. Furthermore, a guideline to develop an adiabatic temperature rise is also suggested using the model prediction. The model can be a promising method to practically predict the temperature profile of a mass concrete using the isothermal calorimetry.
