Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) has intrigued a cornucopia of interests from researchers in the field of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) due to its characterized mechanism. With this, TADF has proven to be highly efficient in that TADF-based OLED can harness the triplet excitons with the help of reverse intersystem crossing (RISC). Unfortunately, the following points are still big hurdles to the commercialization of TADF-based OLED devices: i) the modulation of the excited state lifetime; ii) bi-molecular quenching processes associated with roll-off and device lifetime, and iii) broad emission spectrum originated from inter or intra-charge transfer (ICT). Driven by these, we need to explore the unclear behavior of TADF materials in various systems at the molecular level, to solve complicated problems and come up with viable OLED devices. Here, we discuss the topic regarding the excitonic modulations of TADF materials based on photo-physical and kinetic studies. Further, guidelines for the utilization of TADF materials in various systems and new exciton modulation systems will be suggested, which is a major issue in our field.-
