dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, we propose advanced guidance laws for air-to-surface missiles to enhance the survivability against the threat of interceptors launched from the tar-get. The proposed guidance laws consist of a term of conventional PNG (Proportional Navigation Guidance) to guarantee homing to target and a time varying bias term to cause evasive maneuver. As a time varying bias term, barrel-roll maneuvers and random telegraph maneuvers are investigated. A barrel-roll maneuver is defined by the roll axis and the roll frequency, and a random telegraph maneuver is defined by its direction and duration arbitrarily given. This thesis proves the capturability of the proposed three-dimensional biased PNG with barrel-roll maneuver against a target non-maneuvering. In our capturability analysis, the nonlinear dynamics of three-dimensional pursuit situations are taken into full account. And a Lyapunov-like approach along with a vector analysis method based on the so-called ling-of-sight (LOS) plane plays the key role in obtaining our result.
