As the number of mobile nodes connected to the Internet increases exponentially, the need for the host mobility management is increasing day by day. In this thesis, we propose MoHiD, a mobility platform that solves the problems of the Name Resolution Systems based on the DHT. The MoHiD is composed of Hierarchical DHT which stores the information of the hosts and MoHiD Access Router which provides the host mobility. The host is identified by its IP address, and information necessary for the host mobility is stored in the HDHT entry. By specifying the HDHT level, the handover delay can be drastically reduced by quickly processing the query by limiting the number of the overlay hops occurred. We used the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to measure the entry query time of the HDHT in the global scale and constructed a MoHiD testbed to test the performance of the handover. The experimental results show that the MoHiD is a scalable mobility platform and can support a fast handover.
