A lock-in-amplification-based electromagnetic sensor interface for localization has been proposed. The proposed electromagnetic sensor interface is suitable for the implementation of small electromagnetic sensor systems because it operates at low power compared to existing structures, with high accuracy. In order to operate the entire system with little power, a slow comparator that operates at low power and a phase shifter circuit were applied. Recently, in the medical field, electromagnetic sensor systems are emerging for use as localization systems of objects for high-precision surgery. Existing electromagnetic sensor systems for localization are difficult to apply to the medical field because of the power and size of the sensor interface. If the sensor interface were designed to use low-power integrated circuit technology, the entire system could be small. However, in the case of a lock-in amplifier, which is a suitable structure for an electromagnetic sensor interface, the existing structures that use integrated circuit technology still use a lot of power. For this thesis, the principle of an electromagnetic wave-based localization sensor system, fundamentals, conventional system, and previous lock-in amplification based sensor interface circuit were examined. Moreover, a new low power sensor interface circuit structure is proposed based on lock-in amplification. Finally, the performance was verified through post-layout simulation results.
