dc.description.abstract | A 60 GHz down conversion mixer is proposed in this paper. This design focuses on wideband for 9Gbps wireless communication system. Applications of the proposed mixer are WBAN, and wireless VR/AR HMD. A data-rate of 9 Gbps is required for 2K high-definition video transmission, and this is implemented through QPSK modulation. Since gain and bandwidth are relationship of trade-off, it is challenging issues on realizing wide-bandwidth and high conversion gain simultaneously. To increase output impedance bandwidth, trans-impedance amplifier is used. Additionally, Cross-coupled current bleeding structure is used to increase conversion gain. Also proposed inductive shunt peaking TIA is used to increase conversion gain without additional power consumption. Proposed mixer’s conversion gain is 1.6 dB at 59 GHz and it’s gain bandwidth and OP1dB are 51-61 GHz(10 GHz) and -17.7 dBm respectively. | - |
