dc.description.abstractThis thesis presents a new wake-up receiver to improve the sensitivity of ultra-low power (ULP) wake-up receiver using new noise suppression technique. To realize the wireless sensor network (WSN), performance of transceiver is the most important and main performance issue of the transceiver is the power consumption of receiver. To solve the issue of power consumption, an extra receiver consuming much less lower power, named wake-up receiver, is needed to prolong the wireless sensor nodes’ life-time. By using extra ULP wake-up receiver, we can relieve and reduce the power consumption burden of receiver. However, the sensitivity of wake-up receiver is severely degraded due to low voltage gain of radio frequency (RF) front-ends. Therefore, the research for improving the sensitivity without extra power consumption is needed. In this thesis, for improving the sensitivity and reducing the power consumption, a new noise suppression technique is proposed and explained. A new ULP wake-up receiver, which contains a new noise suppression technique, is designed for 2.4GHz ISM band application and designed with TSMC65nm CMOS technology.-
