The separation criteria are presented for incompressible laminar boundary layer flow over two - dimensional surface and axially symmetrical body. Analytical solution is obtained based on the Blasius profile, successive approximations, and Curle - Skan``s criterion of incompressible laminar separation. Applied to laminar flow over a circular cylinder and a sphere the presented criteria predict in a good agreement with experimental data. The main advantage of the obtained criteria lies in that separation may be predicted without having any informations on the boundary layer velocity profile but only from the external inviscid velocity distributions over the two - dimensional surface and the rotational body.eng
