dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, method of analysis of Coanda flow around a circular cylinder is presented. Existing analysis is improved using momentum integral equation and empirical data to predict accurately the flow characteristics of a wall jet along the surface of a circular cylinder, including the velocity profile, the jet detachment downstream and evaluation of the reliable parameter in a wide range of Reynolds number. For analysis momentum integral equation and empirical data are used. To determine the detachment point, shear stress is formulated similar to the method of Maskell. Von Doenhoff and Tetervin``s criterion is modified in order to calculate the shape factor. Comparison of the results of the present analysis with existing experimental data shows a good agreement for velocity profiles and detachment points. | eng |
