dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, it is studied that the realization of the salvo attack using passive seeker equipped missiles. The hybrid target tracking algorithm and the Guidance Law Switching Logic are proposed for an impact time synchronized salvo attack mission. The former is for estimating the target range for ITCG (Impact Time Control Guidance) and the latter guarantees the target places in the missile seeker`s field of view during the homing phase. Recently developed anti-ship missiles are preferred to the passive-type seeker for their stealthy characteristic to enemy’s warning systems. So the missile must estimate the target range for homing guidance with the bearing measurement only. In impact time synchronized salvo attack case, the missile`s maneuvers are restricted so the range estimation problem cannot be solved directly for the lack of the target observability. Assuming the data link is available for the missiles, the proposed hybrid target tracking algorithm, using the other`s measurement, can estimate the target range without passive ranging. Various filters are considered and the combination of the Extended Kalman filter (EKF) and the Particle filter is proposed to estimate the target state in the salvo attack involved more than two missiles. The Guidance Law Switching Logic and the available impact time boundary calculation method are proposed. The former maintains the target in the seeker`s field of view (FOV) during the homing phase and the latter estimates the maximum and minimum available impact time for fixed target considering the physical limitation of the missile. The Guidance Law Switching Logic is composed of two parts, one is the constant look angle guidance law and the other is calculation the guidance law returning point. So it can use any guidance law with the possibility for lock-on failure during engagement.
