라플라시안 패치 기반 이미지 합성 방법 및 장치가 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이미지 합성 방법은 입력 이미지에 대한 라플라시안 피라미드를 생성하는 단계; 상기 생성된 라플라시안 피라미드를 사용하여 각 레벨에서의 2차 미분 성질을 가우시안 차이(Difference of Gaussian)을 통해 근사하는 단계; 및 상기 근사된 각 레벨에서의 2차 미분 성질을 이용하여 상기 입력 이미지 내의 타겟 영역을 이미지 합성하는 단계를 포함한다.
