This paper deals with a simulation technique to evaluate dynamic behavior of the projectile during a high impact test. The high impact test is utilized to verify safeties of inner components of projectiles at high speed of several hundred per second. The proposed simulation technique can consider thermal softening effect of a target material and automatic mesh generation method is applied to prevent mesh distortion of the target material. It is concluded that acceleration of the projectile has a good agreement between simulation and experimental results during the high impact test.
