Link availability of terrestrial free-space optical communication systems in Korea estimated by using macro-meteorological data

Abstract

We analyze the link availability of terrestrial free-space optical communication systems in Korea using 5-year macro-meteorological data. Included in this theoretical analysis are channel losses caused by absorption/scattering, scintillation, and misalignment between transmitter and receiver.
