Stress Evaluation in Plane Strain Problem by Elasto-plastic Finite Element Analysis with Reduced Integration

Abstract

Stress components in each incremental step are evaluated by elasto-plastic finite element method using 4 node iso-parametric element. It is noted that inccurate evaluation of stress components by a full integration scheme or a directional reduced integration scheme can be corrected by a reduced integratoin scheme with hourglass control.
