The development of efficient catalysts and reaction conditions is important to improve reactivity and selectivity in organic chemistry. In this thesis, a stereoselective synthesis of enantiopure mixed alkyl-aryl by the diaza-Cope rearrangement reaction and their application for an efficient synthesis of bioactive compounds such as cisplatin analogues and (+)-CP-99,994 are described. Also, highly reactive catalysts are prepared for Buchwald-Hartwig amination reactions by synergistic ligand effect between N-heterocyclic carbine (NHC) and bicyclic bridgehead phosphoramidite ligands(briphos). Lastly, the influence of a bidentate ligand which shows high reactivity and regioselectivity in Pd-catalyzed dimerization of cinnamyl bromides is demonstrated.
