Since carbon nanotubes were discovered in 1991, there have been many studies on the topics about their own unique physical and chemical properties such as electrical, thermal and mechanical properties depending upon the crystalline orientation, wall thickness, and chirality. Due to the well-known superior physical properties of CNTs, one of the promising fields of CNT is a fabrication of CNT-composite materials applicable to electronic devices. First, we fabricated nanocomposite films comprising multiwall carbon nanotube and nanocrystalline copper using a low cost electrochemical method. Owing to pulse deposition with several additives, MWNTs were well-dispersed in the films through thickness and the nanocomposite films showed a dense structure without any voids. For the purpose of evaluation as a candidate for electronic interconnection, elastic modulus, hardness, and electrical resistivity of MWNT/Cu nanocomposite films were measured using nanoindentation, four probe, and time-domain thermo-reflectance methods. It was found that the mechanical properties were more or less enhanced due to the addition of MWNTs but electrical conductivities of nanocomposite films were decreased. Further studies are needed for the application of electroplated MWNT/Cu nanocomposite films as next generation interconnecting materials of electronic devices. Secondly, the p-type cuprous oxide films (Cu2O) doped with single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were successfully synthesized via the two-step process of electrochemical co-deposition and subsequent thermal oxidation. SWNTs are generally known to play the role of carrier pathway in various SWNT-based composite materials because of their low electrical resistivity in the longitudinal direction. In this study, however, it is demonstrated that SWNTs behave as a doping element of the electron acceptor rather than a carrier pathway in the p-type Cu2O. Results showed that the doping of SWNTs in Cu2O films increased the hole concentra...
