dc.description.abstract | This paper presents a new FEC packet retransmission scheme combined with channel interleaving for digital TV broadcasting over satellite in railway environment. The packet retransmission scheme is considered as the best way for providing reliable transmission on deep fading events due to the signal blockage of bridges built over the railroad or of other obstacles like catenaries. We propose an efficient packet retransmission scheme adopting punctured turbo codes of code rate 1/2 in railroad satellite channel. The proposed scheme approaches the performance of conventional packet retransmission scheme using the turbo codes of code rate 1/3. Simulation result shows that the performance of proposed retransmission scheme on railroad channel with blockage deep fading is only 0.4dB away from that of 1/3 rate turbo coded packet retransmission. | - |
