dc.description.abstract"In this study, we introduce a new construction method for ships and offshore structures. The core part of this method is to connect ship blocks with steel bars and concrete in sea without using dry or floating docks. Therefore, it is possible to reduce construction time in docks. To show the feasibility of this method, we employ a ship model to investigate the safety of connective part. We perform the preliminary design of the connected cross-sections to determine the number of steel bars and the thickness of concrete. We analyze this structure in detail by using finite element method through ADINA. The calculations are based on Common Structural Rules (CSR). At the same time, we suggest the applicability of the new construction method for various offshore structures, especially for semi-submersible structures. We believe that the proposed construction method enables us to reduce the building cost of future offshore structures."-
