ADS-B is a novel surveillance concept using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and a digital data-link compared to the conventional surveillance system based on the radar system. Aircraft IM refers to overall system that enables the improved means for managing traffic flows and aircraft spacing. IM applications consist of relative (flight-deck) and absolute (ground-based) components. In this paper, preliminary results of functional test based on Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) system for acquisition of the surveillance data to implement the concept of the Interval Management (IM).
