dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we study the problem of multipath channel estimation for spread spectrum signals used in global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). To resolve multipath components arriving within a chip interval, we propose a modification to the Least-squares based Iterative Multipath Super-resolution (LIMS) algorithm. The modified LIMS algorithm performs multiple LIMS with different hypothesis on the number of multipaths, and then estimates the number of multipaths and the code phase of the first arrival path simultaneously. We show that the modified LIMS algorithm can estimate the first arrival path among the closely arrived independently faded multipaths and outperforms the LIMS algorithm runs with an assumption of a fixed number of multipaths. | - |
