dc.description.abstractElectrically-driven single-cell 2-D slab photonic crystal lasers operating near 1550 nm at room temperature are discussed. Two nondegenerate resonant modes with a central node are experimentally demonstrated and studied. In addition, several schemes suitable for efficient photon out-coupling will also be addressed.-
